Straight from TrueHoop...

Gwen Knapp of the San Francisco Chronicle: "By now, it is a cliche to point out that Stephen Jackson controls the Warriors' pulse, their emotional core, even more so than Baron Davis. Nobody saw that coming when he arrived here 13 months ago, at least not the people who knew Jackson's reputation better than they knew him. Now the question is: Can someone with such transcendent leadership skills someday do great things off the court, too? Neda Barrie, the team's vice president of business development, wasn't expecting much when he was traded from Indiana. She had seen the video of him fighting Detroit fans in the stands, and she knew about the charges of gunfire in a strip-club parking lot. Then she spoke with counterpart from the Pacers, who told her: You're going to love him. He'll be your community-relations go-to guy. ... Every member of the club is supposed to do a certain amount of public service. Jackson doesn't quit at the minimum, she said, 'and he's never shy about dipping into his own pocket.'" Read More

There's still time...

Here's an interesting article for arguably the best (easily one of the best) sluggers in baseball history giving pros vs. cons for each of the 30 MLB teams as to why they should or why they shouldn't sign Bonds for the upcoming year. Pretty amazing.

(Bonds in Detroit? This would be sweet.)

NorCal What?!

Just got back from a grrreat weekend up in NorCal with my peeps, Annie, Molly, and Pasko. Man, what a great weekend...besides the fact that the Warriors LOST the game we went to. Jeez. I'm 0 for 2 this year. Sadness...

Oh yeah, I have a faux-beard...I try. I'm just a lowly Helms.

Btw, if you haven't heard of Brent Petway...you're missing out.

Oh 80's Basketball

How much do you miss THIS?!

B-Diddy at it again

...nuff said.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Yep. They did it. They handed the mighty Celtics their second loss to the West, and second STRAIGHT. Wow.

...if only they played like that every night.

First of all, if you missed the game, there's a whole series of about 6 videos on YouTube that show the entire 4th quarter (!!!). Yeah, I know.

But if you're really pressed for time...just watch this...

Here's the recap for ya too...that's right, FOUR dubs in the twenties. Snap.

APU it is!...again...

So yeah, today I found out I got into Azusa Pacific University's graduate program.

Yep. That is tight.

Plus, I might've bought a Baron Davis jersey to celebrate...woot.

In other news...The Dubs play the Boston Three Party tonight and well...things aren't exactly looking too good on that. Although, we might have a shot right? I mean, anything's possible at Roaracle!

(Ummm...also, Mike Miller should be a Warrior. Mully, go make that happen.)

Amazing...

...I wish

A Clean Look

Here's a sick article in ESPN the Magazine that my roomie Ryan found. Yeah, it's pretty much amazing. If you thought you knew who Stephen Jackson was, get ready...

Monta's Soooo Underrated

Oh yeah, one last thing...
It's just not right that Pietrus gets paid almost 5 times as much as Monta. I love the guy, but he's got to go! And Mully, give that Kelenna kid a FAT raise this summer....puhleeeease?! Maybe even out Steve and Al's a bit? and Brandon and Patrick!?!? Knock those numbers DOWN, or get me a decent big man.

Ok, GO!

Barack and Baron

Thoughts on the day...

Ok, today was nice. A little overcast in the Azusan valley, but hey, nice nonetheless. The men's and women's bball teams both got W's, although just barely (for the men at least). Always a good thing. Plus, Barack got a BUNCH more delegates (Wisconsin, Washinton state, and Hawaii, I believe) today. So yeah, all in all, a good day.

PS: The Dubs lost big time to the Jazz...sadness. We'll see though, because I'm hearing Mully's got a big trade coming up.

Let's see...Pietrus, Watson, and Croshere for...Mike Miller? Mehmet Okur? Chris Wilcox? We need size, and shooting wouldn't be a bad option too...we'll hafta see. TWO DAYS LEFT!!!

Change We Can Believe In

A sweet vid that's been going around YouTube by Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas. Inspired by Barack Obama's 'Yes We Can' speech.

Si, Se Puede!

My First Post

Well, today was another lazy day at school. I know. It's my last semester at an extraordinarily expensive higher education institution, and you've got a point. But hey, I've been learning, a lot in fact. I just don't have a very hard schedule. So yeah, I'm taking it a little easier these days after almost killing myself the past 3 years.

Anyways, I spent a good time of the day (outside of the lovely class time, of course...thank you Kneeland Brown), online, checking out some rather insightful videos.

There's this new Monta Ellis mix comprised solely of clips from this year. A definite keeper.

The classic LIVE feed Baron over Kirilenko. Never gets old...

And I know All-Star weekend is gone and passed, but if you still can't believe Baron Davis wasn't an All-Star this year, well...neither can Pat Riley. Check this out.

And one of my all time favorite videos.

Then check out two vids from seanthom2004 for some good laughs.

So yeah, this blog is pretty much for myself I'm guessing. We'll see...

I just found myself emailing everything cool I stumbled upon (literally sometimes) to my bro Jason and buddies Jorge, Jason, Brent, Sean, Ryan, CoRri and Dane, and well, here's my lazier (more constructive, strategic, betterly categorized) way of doing the same thing...assuming any of them ever check this thing...

Also, when I go to Vietnam, I'll hopefully be posting every once in awhile on this mama jama, who knows... That'll be a great way to keep in touch with my peeps I think.

For now though, it's rather egotistical and a partically narcissistic...but hopefully I'll be able to disguise those fun truths with some creative insights, videos, websites, pictures, and well...my bumblings. We'll see though...Enjoy!
